Lei Cao's Story

At the age of 17, Lei began her university studies in medicine in China. After graduation she commenced her career as medical doctor in a provincial general hospital in China. While practicing at the hospital, Lei encountered a patient who underwent surgery to remove a cancerous liver tumor. The surgeon determined the tumor was too large to remove and advised that the patient had only 3-6 months to live. The patient then went to see a doctor in traditional Chinese medicine that was able to eliminate the tumor following a treatment program using Chinese herbs. This miraculous experience served as a catalyst for Lei decision to attend a traditional Chinese medical college to study traditional Chinese medicine for another 4 years. Lei is training in both western and traditional Chinese medicine enable her to combine the best elements of each approach in her medical practice today.

Lei has also studied in Germany, taught in China and done clinical research at the hospital for sick children in Toronto. She has over 30 years of medical experience in both western and traditional Chinese medicine.

Lei has dedicated her adult life to the study and practice of medicine. She has a great capacity to listen to her patients and is passionate about developing appropriate treatment programs to improve quality of life of her patients.
